We started New England Tote Drop because we were tired of watching perfectly good cardboard get crushed, soaked, and tossed after a single move. There's a better way.
Born from a frustrating move
It started with a move from Somerville to Cambridge. Two weeks of collecting boxes from liquor stores, grocery runs, and Buy Nothing groups. Then two days of packing. Then one chaotic Saturday of hauling. Then a recycling pile taller than the couch.
We kept thinking: why does everyone go through this same ritual? Boxes are flimsy, they collapse, they get wet, and they're gone after one use. Meanwhile, sturdy reusable totes exist — the kind warehouses and retailers use every day — and nobody was renting them to movers in New England.
So we built New England Tote Drop. We deliver a stack of heavy-duty totes to your door, you fill them up and move, and we come pick them up when you're done. No tape. No collapse. No recycling guilt.
